Medicare Essentials On the Air with Dan Rea

Medicare Essentials On the Air with Dan Rea

Health care is confusing, not just for patients but for doctors too. With all the bureaucratic red tape (and always more coming), it is not all that surprising. How can someone in this time of healthcare reform understand the new legislation? How can they save money? More importantly, how can they get the best health care? Simply put, how can they get Medicare to work for them?

Medicare Essentials

Millions of people are affected by Medicare each and every day, not just the 60+ million who use Medicare as their insurance but also those loved ones who help to take care of them. This is where Medicare Essentials: A Physician Insider Explains the Fine Print lays it out for you in simple terms. By pointing out the most common stumbling blocks to Medicare, I share my experience as a family doctor and a medical consultant to get you results.

  • When are you eligible for Medicare?
  • What Medicare penalties will you pay if you apply too late?
  • Will you be penalized for having had a higher income in the past?
  • What services are actually provided under Medicare?
  • How do recent changes to the hospital rules make you pay more?
  • How can you get the best prescription drug coverage?

Dan Rea Reviews the Fine Print on NightSide

Invited to the CBS studio in Boston in 2014, I had the amazing opportunity to go on air with WBZ News Radio’s Nightside with Dan Rea. Host Dan Rea is a force — engaging, energetic, opinionated and very real, even if you do not always agree with his political views.

It was exciting to reach so many listeners as Dan Rea and I talked about my book for two hours. I am hopeful the callers gained some helpful information in the process.  I thank each and every one of them for their questions.  In many instances, I learned as much from them as they did from me. Altogether, it made for a fun and memorable night and one I will never forget. It’s why came back for another round in 2015!

My interview demeanor tends to be calm and soothing. It must be my family medicine bedside manner coming out. Dan Rea even told me I was too polite at times (which makes me smile) but there is nothing shy about how I write. Like Dan Rea, I lay it out for you like I see it. Health care is not a trivial matter. It is about how you can keep yourself healthy to live the best live we can. The best way to do that is to understand the healthcare options before you. That is what I want to help you do.

Medicare is a complex machine but one that I will help you navigate. Let me be your advocate. It would be an honor and privilege.
